Police in Butebo district are investigating circumstances under which a retired teacher died in a road accident today Monday, 13th January, 2025.
The accident happened this afternoon at Jocity village, Gayaza B Parish, Kabalayi Sub County in Butebo district.
It was reported that an unknown motorcyclist who was riding at a high speed from Butebo to Budaka knocked Silaji Kauma who was standing alongside the Butebo road.
Moses Kitiyo Mwanga, the Bukedi North region police commander confirmed the incident saying the deceased’s body has been taken to Pallisa hospital for postmortem.
He cautioned road users against over-speeding while using the road as a way of reducing accidents.
