According to SP Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, Dr. Paul Wakoko’s vehicle was broken into on Monday, 13th January, 2025 where he had parked it on Republic Street.
He says the thieves who managed to steal Shs4M and a new Laptop were arrested the following day following Police investigations.
He identified the arrested suspects as Moses Wasukira aged 23 and Desmond Wasukira aged 30, both residents of Mbale City.
Taitika says police was only able to recover a laptop adding that the suspects are currently being detained at Mbale Central Police Station and will soon be produced in court to face charges related to their crimes.
He says the two are going to help police to connect them to their colleagues who have been breaking into vehicles when they get parked alongside the road and steal everything.
