The Entebbe Municipality National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairman, Steven Kabuye faced hard times after locals booed and heckled him for praising the Parish Development Model scheme, a program many locals say have never benefited from.
This happened on January 29,2025 during the post Liberation Day celebrations held at Nakiwogo/Banga playgrounds in Entebbe Division B.
The booing and heckling continued when Kabuye praised the ruling party for repairing most of the bad roads within the municipality, something locals disagreed with citing the poor state of roads in Manyago zone which are full of pot holes.
“Stop telling lies when you know very well that you left office 15 years ago when all roads were in poor state. The best you did during your tenure in office as a Mayor was to enrich yourself, in addition to acquiring prime land where you built your Penniel Beach,” angry locals roared.
“Part of Entebbe Children’s park land was sold during your tenure yet knew very well it’s a public land, and a crucial area for our children to relax and enjoy life. You are the worst mayor Entebbe municipality has had in it’s history,” they alleged.
Mr. Kabuye, who was a mayor of Entebbe Municipality for over 15 years, decried the escalating cases of child labor in Entebbe, attributing the escalation to negligence of parents and poor parenting. He, however tasked parents to enroll their children in government schools for the betterment of their future.
