KAPELEBYONG
Police in Kapelebyong Central Police Station in Kapelebyong district are actively investigating circumstances under which a 55 year old man was murdered by his cousin.
This occurred on Saturday, 8th February, 2025 at 7:30PM and was reported by Emmanuel Eeru John, Aberan Village Local Council one chairperson.
Nachuha Damalie the East Kyoga Regional Police Commander confirmed the murder saying the deceased has been identified as one Owino Julius, resident of Aberan village, Alito parish, Alito sub-county, Kapelebyong district .
She said the suspect in this case is Fidel Olwit, 56yrs, and resident of the same village.
It’s alleged that while on his way home, Owino was attacked and stabbed to death by Olwit for not allowing him to sell a piece of land.
“A case of murder was reported at Alito police station by the area LC1 vide SD REF 05/08/02/2025”, said RPC Nachuha
Nachuha added that Homicide team from CPS Kapelebyong visited the scene and confirms that the suspect is on the run.
