Dr Atingi-Ego Michael has thanked President Museveni for appointing him Governor Bank of Uganda.
Dr. Atingi-Ego’s appointment came to light on Monday, 10th February, 2025 bringing to rest a three year wait following the death of Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile on 23rd, January 2022.
Dr. Atingi-Ego has been working in acting capacity since then having been Mutebile’s deputy before the latter’s death.
In a brief message to the appointing authority DATED 10TH February, Dr. Atingi-Ego says the President’s confidence in him inspires him.
“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to President @KagutaMuseveni for placing his trust in me. Your confidence in my abilities inspires me, and I am committed to upholding the principles of integrity, transparency, and diligence in this role.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Treasury, Ramadhan Ggoobi congratulates the new Governor saying they shall work together to pursue jobs & household incomes, anchored on macroeconomic stability.”
