There was utter shock in Kibuku district on Monday evening, 10th February, 2025 when a speeding Vehicle knocked dead a 7 year old primary two pupil of Kalampata Primary School located at Kibuku district.
The accident happened at Katolo trading center along Mbale-Iganga highway at 4 pm when children were going back home from school.
According to Moses Kitiyo Mwanga, the Bukedi North Police commander, a Noah vehicle number UBP 457K driven by Moses Ssempiri and heading to Iganga from Mbale knocked the minor who was crossing the road.
He says that the cause of the accident was reckless driving and the vehicle has been impounded and is parked at Tirinyi police station whereas the driver is in police custody as police continues with investigations.
Kitiyo also says that the body has been taken to Mbale regional referral hospital for postmortem
He urged parents to always accompany their young children to school and when coming back from school to avoid such accidents.
