NAMISINDWA

Bosco Nabongo, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner of Namisindwa, has written to the Chief Administrative Officer requesting the interdiction of Bernard Kitongo, the acting commercial officer.

The letter, dated February 10, 2024, cites Kitongo’s alleged involvement in PDM extortion and corruption cases, which led to his arrest and court appearance on December 23, 2024.

Nabongo references Section F-C of the Public Standing Orders 2021 and Regulation 38 of the Public Service Commission Regulations 2009, which mandate the interdiction of public officers under investigation.

He requests that Kitongo and other staff members under investigation be interdicted immediately to facilitate smooth investigations and expedite the process of determining their fate.

However, when contacted for comment, Leonard Kitafuja, the Namisindwa Chief Administrative Officer, declined to comment, promising to respond after reviewing the letter.

This development comes amidst allegations of corruption and extortion within the district, including claims that parish chiefs have been demanding sex in exchange of inclusion into beneficiaries’ lists.
