Yet to be identified goons have raped and strangled to death a 16 year old girl and resident of Township Cell, Kakus Ward, Serere Town Council in Serere District
The above case occurred in the night of Tuesday, 20th February, 2025 at Township Cell, Kakus Ward, Serere Town Council in Serere District.
The deceased has been identified as Abiro Rebecca Viola a female juvenile aged 16 years old daughter of Otai Simon and Auma Joyce, a student at Serere Township Secondary School, in Serere District.
It’s alleged that on 20/02/2025 at around 0600/c, parents to the deceased went to the grass thatched hut of their daughter where she slept alone and found the door open and their daughter dead.
Police says preliminary investigations show that the deceased was raped and strangled using a mosquito net and the suspects accessed the room of the deceased after breaking her door.
The canine was introduced at the scene but lost track when it reached the main road of Kagwara Serere road.
It is said that same suspects had attempted to break into a house in the same neighbourhood, but were chased by boys who were sleeping. The boys however never alarmed to attract the attention of the neighbours.
The body was taken to Serere Health Center IV mortuary for postmortem.
