The Police in Mukono has confirmed death by suicide of a S.3 student of Seeta High School, Main Campus in Mukono that took place on 21st of February 2025.
According to a police statement, preliminary reports indicate that at approximately 3:00 AM, a student, identified as Ssesazi Elishammah, a 16-year-old male student in Senior Three (S.3) at Seeta High School, Mukono Main Campus, was found hanging in the dormitory.
It is alleged that the deceased had attended evening classes on the previous day until 10:00 PM and later retired to the dormitory along with his classmates. However, at around 3:00 AM, one of his roommates discovered him hanging next to his bed and immediately informed the school administration, which subsequently alerted the police.
The police responded promptly, and the body was removed from the scene and transported to City Mortuary Mulago for a postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
At this stage, the motive behind the suspected suicide remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing to gather more details surrounding the incident.
Social Media was however, awash with stories that the deceased committed suicide because his father refused to give him pocket money of Shs2M.
