Tragedy is what can best explain what has just happened today, Saturday, 1st March, 2025 where all five persons travelling on one motorcycle died in an accident in Butebo district.
The deceased have been identified as Emma Kyakya 18, Dan Munyoro 18 years, Sulaiman Dongo 16, Dephas Kageno 20 and Joseph Kirya aged 16.
According to Moses Kitiyo Mwanga the Bukedi North police commander, the 5 youths were all residents of Kachabali Village, Petete Sub-County, Butebo District.
Kitiyo says that all the five were on motorcycle registration number UFZ 201G, and were traveling from Butebo Town Council to Kachabali when they collided with a stationary electric pole placed across the road by unknown individuals.
He says that the bodies have been taken to Butebo Health Center VI for postmortem.
The motorcycle has been parked at the Butebo police station pending inspection.
