President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni also Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces has confirmed the promotion of Major General Felix Kulayigye.
Kulayigye who is the Director Defence Public Information was promoted as Acting Major General by the Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba in January, 2025.
According to Col. Deo Akiiki, the Deputy Director Defence Public Information, Kulayigye who currently heads the directorate of Defence Public Information was promoted in recognition of his, ‘excellent long service and representation of UPDF in the public domain.”
Other officers who had been promoted from the rank of Brigadier General to Acting Major Generals are; Charles Byanyima, Deus Sande, and Daniel Kakono.
In a brief statement dated Friday, 7th March, 2025, Kulayigye says, “The CDF/SPA/SO is pleased to announce the confirmation and promotions of Generals, Senior officers, Junior officers by H.E. the President.
We congratulate the Generals and Officers upon well-deserved promotions
