The Police Taekwondo Team has won the two day Lira Open Championship that started on Saturday, 8th March, 2025.
According to Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson, the team were declared overall winners after scooping 14 gold, 6 Silver and 8 Bronze medals.
The two day tournament that kicked off on Saturday, 8th March, 2025 attracted about 15 teams.
They included, Uganda Prisons, Jinja, Mbale, Red Scorpion, Caltel Lee, Nwoya, Ndejje University, Kampala, Tigerhoods, Gulu University, Makerere University,
According to Marvin Byararuha, the President Uganda Taekwondo Federation, the event at Lira was aimed at promoting the sport and identifying talent within the region.
