Lydia Wanyoto, the Mbale City Woman MP aspirant together with her Kampala Muslim friends have made a significant contribution of 300 bags of cement towards the completion of the Nakaloke Centre Mosque project in Mbale City, Norther Division.

This donation was in fulfillment of her recent pledges to the people of Nakaloke.

The pledge was officially delivered on Sunday 16th March, 2025 during a women’s seminar hosted at the mosque.

The gesture by Hon. Wanyoto reflects her continued commitment to community development, particularly in Mbale city.

“Today I have brought my pledge of 100 bags of cement, but because I wanted something much bigger for my people, I also lobbied from my Kampala Muslims friends who extended a helping hand and contributed more 200 bags to make 300 that we have brought here today that will help construct Allahs’ house,” Wanyoto said.

In addition, Wanyoto further donated food items also known as Iftar to the fasting Muslims where over seven Muslim counties (twales) in Mbale City benefited from the items which included mineral water, maize flour, soap, sugar and maize seeds for planting.

She implored all the Muslims to develop a sharing habit and also to look out for the less privileged during the holy month of Ramadan.

“I will be traversing seven twales to deliver some iftar items for our mosques leaders, but I have also brought for you maize seedlings for my annual project for my people because rain has started and we need to plant food so as to have a sustainable food basket,” added Wanyoto.

The generous act was met with appreciation and praise from Muslims who expressed their gratitude.
