Security forces have recovered one Sub Machine Gun (SMG) from a suspected cattle rustler.
The gun which had one round of ammunition was recovered Nadiye John Lokwang, a resident of Loteteleit village. Lokwang was arrested at the Kaabong cattle market by a joint intelligence team.
According to IP Mike Longole, the UPDF/ASTU Spokesperson, the recovery of the rifle was made possible through negotiations with the suspect’s relatives, who handed it over to the LC III Chairperson of Lolelia and subsequently to the security forces.
“We commend the cooperation by the community members and encourage them to continue reporting any suspicious activities to police,” he said in a brief statement dated Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
