Centenary Bank Donates Computers, Garbage Bins to Mbale Schools

As part of its Customer Appreciation Week, Centenary Bank has today Friday, 21st March, 2025 donated computers to institutions of higher learning and rubbish bins to various secondary schools in Mbale district and city.

 

The bank’s staff from the head office and Mbale branch visited several schools, interacting with administrators, donating essential items, and promoting financial literacy. The beneficiary schools included Nyondo Secondary School, Nabumali High School, St. John Bosco PTC Nyondo, and Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU).

 

Annet Nandelenga Wabweni, Manager of Centenary Bank’s Mbale branch, explained that the initiative aims to appreciate customers, give back to the community, and promote financial literacy.

 

The headteachers of the beneficiary schools expressed gratitude to Centenary Bank for its support. Dismas Samuel Wandulu, Headteacher of Nyondo Secondary School, praised the bank’s customer care and financial management services.

 

Evans Nakhokho, Chief Manager of Agri-business at Centenary Bank, emphasized the importance of nurturing business relationships and appreciating customers.

 

The donations included six computers to St. John Bosco Core PTC in Nyondo and four rubbish bins to Nyondo Secondary School and Nabumali High School. Sister Rose Akullo, Principal of St. John Bosco Core PTC, thanked the bank for the computers, which will enhance the computer skills of their trainees.

 

Margaret Nabude, Headteacher of Nabumali High School, appreciated the donation of garbage bins and urged Centenary Bank to increase its budget allocations for social corporate responsibility activities.
