Good news coming in today, Saturday, 22nd March, 2025 from the Vatican is that Pope Francis intends to appear at his window tomorrow, Sunday, to greet the faithful and impart his blessing.

A press statement issued today, 22nd March, by the Holy See Press Office, says the Pope will appear at his window at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital where he is admitted shortly after noon for a greeting and to impart blessings.

“The Text of the Pope’s Angelus reflection will be distributed as of previous Sundays,” reads the statement in part.

The pope was admitted to Rome’s Gemelli hospital on February 14 with a severe respiratory infection that has required evolving treatment.

However, in a statement dated 24th February, 2025, the Vatican said there was a slight improvement in Pope’s condition with no new episodes of asthma-like respiratory distress.

“No episodes of asthma-like respiratory distress occurred today, and some laboratory tests have shown improvement. The monitoring of his mild kidney insufficiency has not raised any concerns. Oxygen therapy continues, although with slightly reduced flow and oxygen levels,” read the 24th February statement.

On 16th March, 2025, the Vatican released the first image of Pope Francis in hospital since he began treatment for double pneumonia, in which the 88-year-old pontiff appeared to be breathing unaided further confirming improvement in his health.
