12 Arrested Over Kidnap of 7 Year Old Masaka Boy

Masaka abduction suspects

The Police in Greater Masaka have made a breakthrough in the kidnapping case of a 7-year-old pupil from Dimo landing site in Masaka District.

 

Twelve suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping, which occurred on March 21, 2025, at around 7:00 am.

 

It is alleged the victim was abducted by two men on a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle while on their way to school. The kidnappers later contacted the victim’s family, demanding a ransom of UGX 200,000, which was promptly paid. However, there was no further communication from the kidnappers.

 

A rescue operation was conducted by the Police at 1700hrs on Monday, 24th March, 2025, saving the kidnapped child. The child was dropped off at GAZ petrol station in Kalisizo district by the kidnappers, who were tricked into doing so in exchange for a ransom of Shs5 million.

 

The kidnappers had arranged for the child to be taken to the mother in a taxi however police managed to apprehend them in the process.

 

Arrested Suspects are; Lutaya Nelson a Motorcycle rider, Maria Gorrete Nambajjo, an accomplice, Namugamba Prossy, a sister to the prime suspect and Namukwaya Rosemary, a mother to the prime suspect.

 

Others are; Serugo Matia,  Brother to the prime suspect, Kasumba Yuda, Father to the prime suspect, Sikyomu Tonny, friend to the prime suspect, Yawe Robert, friend to the prime suspect and Kiwendo Paul an accomplice.

 

Arrested also are Hussein Muhammad, an accomplice, Masereka Dennis, a Taxi driver and Wamala Emma, a Taxi conductor.

 

According to Police, the prime suspect, Tusibira Pius, is still at large and calls upon anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to share it in confidence with police.
