Kenya’s President, William Ruto has fired his Public Service Cabinet Secretary, in a mini Cabinet reshuffle announced today, Wednesday, 26th March, 2025.
In the new changes, the Head of State replaced Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justine Muturi with Geofrey Ruku, while Hannah Wendot was nominated to the Ministry of Gender and Culture.
The fallout between Muturi and President Ruto reached boiling levels on Tuesday, 25th March after Muturi fired back at his Principal who accused him of incompetence during his tenure as Attorney General.
Meanwhile, Geoffrey Ruku, Member of Parliament, Mbeere North subscribing to the Democratic Party had earlier this month vowed to continue showing support to the Kenya Kwanza coalition despite his affiliation with the Democratic Party (DP) which announced its plan to exit the coalition.
Speaking during an interview on 17th March, the MP reaffirmed his unwavering support to President William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza coalition emphasising that he will continue working with them despite the DP Party propelling him to his current political position.
His remarks came barely a week after the DP Party issued a 30-day notice to the Registrar of Political Parties to exit the alliance.
Former Environment Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale was transferred to the Health Cabinet Ministry while Deborah Barasa, who previously headed the health docket, was transferred to the Ministry of Environment.
