A daring robbery occurred at Fil San Petrol Station in Iki Iki Town Council, Budaka District, on Sunday night, 30th March, 2025.

The incident involved assailants armed with knives and iron bars, who assaulted workers and made off with Shs 800,000 in cash and four phones belonging to guards and pump attendants.

According to Moses Kitiyo Mwanga the Bukedi North region Commander, the robbers were familiar faces, often visiting and chatting with the guards on duty.

Mwanga says police responded swiftly, visiting the scene with a team of SOCO officers from Budaka CPS and Iki Iki Police Station.

He says they recovered five bottles of beer, a gun belonging to the guards, and a baton. Statements were also recorded from witnesses. The two guards were arrested and detained.

The investigation is ongoing, with efforts to trace and arrest the robbers, who were identified by the guards, and to track down the stolen phones.
