The long awaited interviews for heads of departments at Namisindwa District Local Government have flopped.
The interviews for District Production Officer, District Health Officer, District Engineer, and Chief Financial Officer were due for Monday, 7th April, 2025.
Applicants who were shortlisted for different positions turned up but they were sent back because technical personnel who were supposed to help the District Service Commission never turned up.
Rehema Khatundi, the Namisindwa acting Principal Human Resource Officer, also acting as the Secretary, District Service Commission told this reporter that whereas, Monday had been allocated for the interviews, technical persons from relevant Ministries only sent apologies for not coming.
She says that after consulting the Chief Administrative Officer, the District Service Commission was advised to postpone the interviews.
Grace Watuwa, the Namisindwa district service commission Chairperson while speaking to our reporter in an exclusive interview, said they were positive the interviews would kick off today Tuesday.
However, information from the district indicates that no interviews have taken place even today, Tuesday, 8th leaving applicants and other stakeholders crying foul.
Some of the candidates who preferred anonymity expressed their disappointment saying they should have informed them last week about the postponement.
Some of them are now accusing the district of having plans to fail the interviews with the aim of not replacing some positions like district production officer which is a contentious position.
