Uganda Police Force has responded to Social Media allegations that the Division Police Commander (DPC) Katwe, Superintendent of Police David Kamugira, has died along Salama Road.
In a statement issued today, Thursday, 10th April, 2025, the KMP Deputy Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire says Superintendent Kamugira is alive, safe, and continues to diligently perform his duties in Katwe Division.
The rumours that have gone viral especially on Tiktok have left many citizens shocked.
However, Owoyesigyire says that the creators of this video have intentions known only to themselves.
“However, it appears their aim is to undermine the work of the DPC, particularly his efforts in combating gang-related crimes in the area, crimes that have in some instances been linked to individuals who are Musicians,” says Owoyesigyire.
He says police assures the public that these baseless claims will not deter the DPC or the Uganda Police Force from executing their mandate.
“Investigations are underway to identify those behind this video, and they will be held accountable in accordance with the law,” he adds saying police urges the general public to disregard the video and treat its contents with the contempt they deserve.
