A Video has leaked showing Members of Parliament sneaking into Parliament on the night of Monday, 7th April, 2025 to pick the already controversial Shs100M handout.
The Video shared by the Leader of Opposition, Joel Ssenyonyi, clearly shows a number of MPs driving into the Parliamentary building at night and walking into the house with empty bags.
One of those identified is the Busiro North Legislator, Paul Nsubuga who was seen entering Parliamentary building on a hooded jumper.
The video lends credence to the allegations rife in social media that NRM MPs, Independents and friendly Opposition MPs were given the Shs100M by government.
Although the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon. Tayebwa vehemently denied the accusations, this piece of evidence suggests he was hiding the truth.
Another NUP legislator Dr. Joyce Bagala, Mityana District Woman Representative has confirmed receiving the money and has vowed not to return it saying, she is struggling.
On Thursday, 10th April, 2025, a group of Opposition Legislators led by Mwanga Kivumbi addressed a press conference where they asked all MPs who have received the ‘evil’ money to return it. They raised 31 signatures from MPs who vowed never to touch the Shs100M.
