The State House Anti-Corruption Unit has arraigned in court two Ntungamo District Local Government Officials before the Anti-Corruption Court on charges of Abuse of Office, Embezzlement, Criminal Conspiracy and Electronic fraud.
Prosecution says that Gadala Rogers (Accountant) and Ssozi Denis (Municipal Planner) stole their colleagues’ passwords and fraudulently made payments through IFMS, totalling UGX 33,462,788 to their personal accounts.
They were charged before Principal Grade One Magistrate, Paul Mujuni, on Friday, 25th April, 2025 and they denied the charges. They were remanded until 6th May 2025.
It is further alleged that between October 2023 and May 2024, Gadala further abused his position to misappropriate Shs11 million.
