A tragic incident of mob lynching occurred on April 27, 2025, at around 6:00 AM in Bulalaka Village, Tirinyi Town Council, Kibuku District.

The victim, Kalenzi Musa, a 38-year-old peasant, was allegedly found with a suspected stolen sheep and was unable to provide an explanation.

According to Wilfred Kyapasa, the Bukedi North region police spokesperson, the angry mob, reportedly fueled by the deceased’s reputation as a notorious thief, lynched him to death.

He says the police responded promptly, registering a case of murder by a mob.

Kyapasa says a team of police officers from Kibuku Central Police Station visited the crime scene, recovering a brown sheep tied to the deceased’s leg and a damaged phone.

The body was taken to Kibuku Health Center mortuary for postmortem examination and later handed over to relatives for burial as inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
