The NRM Vice Chairman, Eastern Uganda has written a compelling letter to his boss, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni over unfulfilled pledges made to the NRM District Chairpersons.

Rtd Capt, Mike Mukula in a letter dated 28th April, 2025 reminds the President who is also the NRM National Party Chairman about the pledges made in 2020/21 electoral period to NRM District Chairpersons.

These pledges include a Pick Up vehicle for each District chairperson for effective grassroots mobilization, payment of Shs20M to each District Chairman as support to enhance operational capacity during and after the 2021 elections and distribution of heifer cows to each district chairperson.

Speaking to this publication today, Tuesday, 29th April, 2025, Mukula says whereas he has reminded the President about these pledges countless times, he now requests him to meet the Chairpersons and listen to their grievances first-hand.

“Despite the delay in fulfilling these pledges, the Chairmen have continued to serve the Movement with unmatched dedication and resilience, often using their personal means to keep the Party vibrant and engaged,” pleads Mukula in his letter to the President.

The NRM Vice Chairman, Eastern argues that facilitating the fulfillment of the pledges would not only serve as a powerful symbol of recognition and motivation but would also further consolidate the Movement’s grassroots structures ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

He argues that these leaders have been steadfast in their service to the Movement and the nation, often working under challenging circumstances and yet continue to uphold the ideals of the Party that include patriotism, discipline, and sacrifice.

These are some of the issues NRM District Chairpersons have complained about including lack of offices, facilitation, and direct engagements with the National Chairman, President Museveni.
