Kyambogo University has suspended 17 students for participating in a demonstration on Wednesday, 23rd April, 2025.
The Students who were protesting the Shs50,000 surcharge for late registration now face a one month’s suspension pending a formal hearing before the Students and Welfare Committee.
The suspension took effect on Tuesday, 29th April, 2025 and for the period under suspension, they are not supposed to be within Campus. They are;
- Owor John Masanja pursuing Bachelor of Economics and Statistics
- Mwesigwa Timothy doing Bachelor of Development Studies
- Akiso Benjamin pursuing Diploma in Sign Language Interpretation (Guild President)
- Avaye Nickson of Bachelor of Science in Building Economics
- Washitwaya Joel Vincent doing Bachelor of Science Technology – Chemistry
- Nansenja Winnie – Bachelor of Demography and Reproductive Health
- Moro Alfred – Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences

8. Kajubi Maktum – Bachelor of Community Development and Social Justice
9. Murozi Alex – Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering and management
10. Kiptoo Ian Cheywa – Bachelor of Vocational Studies in Agricultural with Education
11. Namanya Bashaija Hillary – Bachelor of Engineering in Civil and Building Engineering
12. Muguluma Wahab – Bachelor of Science in Textile and Clothing Technology
13. Muganzi Asaph – Bachelor of Science in Building Economics
14. Okello Emmanuel – Bachelor of Arts with Education
15. Kiwumulo Paul – Bachelor of Arts with Education
16. Kabuni Evalyn – Bachelor of Vocational Studies in Agriculture with Education
