A patient has committed suicide by hanging in Koboko Hospital where he was admitted for treatment.
According to the DPC Koboko district, SP Michael Masereka, the decomposing body of an unidentified male adult was discovered by the Hospital’s watchman at 6:00PM, Thursday, 1st May, 2025 during his routine patrols.
Masereka, while addressing the media today, 2nd May, 2025, said police in Koboko are investigating circumstances under which an unidentified man, believed to have been a patient, was found dead in an abandoned toilet at Koboko Hospital.
Police have confirmed the cause of death as suicide by hanging, and the body is now at the hospital mortuary for further investigation.
Masereka says, if the body is not identified and no relative makes claim for it, they will hand over the body to the Municipal council for burial.
