A 40-year-old security guard has been lynched after it was discovered he had raped and killed a 7 year old girl.
The incident occurred on May 6, 2025, at around 9:00 p.m after police received a report concerning the disappearance and subsequent death of a young girl. The incident took place in Mende Central Village, Mende Parish, Mende Subcounty, Wakiso District.
The deceased was identified as 7-year-old Nalubwama Husinah.
Investigation revealed that the girl’s mother, Namutebi Shakira, had reported her missing earlier that day after she was seen with 40-year-old security guard Lukonge Yusuf, who had taken her to his home.
A search party located the girl’s body in Lukonge’s room, where she was found tied up, raped, and covered with a mattress.
According to Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, members of the community attacked Lukonge upon discovering the girl’s body, resulting in his death by mob lynching.
His body was subsequently set on fire. A double murder case has been opened, and police are continuing with investigations.
Statements have been recorded from witnesses, and both bodies have been transported to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examinations.
