SERERE: Nephews Slaughter Their Two Aunties in Broad Daylight Over Land

Residents of Okokoma Village, Kongoto Parish, Bugondo Sub County, Kasilo County in Serere district are still in shock after a group of five boys slaughtered their two aunties over a land dispute.

 

The shocking incident took place on Thursday, 8th May, 2025 at about 1:30 PM as the deceased identified as Atai and Akol Isabiti were locally surveying land they had sold.

 

The deceased, according to local sources, were sisters to the boys fathers and had allegedly silently sold a portion of land allocated to the five boys. On the fateful day, they had brought the buyer to see and survey the land he had bought.

 

Unfortunately for them, the five boys who live on the same land, pounced on them, slaughtering them from the back of the neck and another from the throat.

 

The suspects who have been identified as Musa, Okila, Opejo, Opus and Opala a.k.a Kabaya ran away after the double murder and handed themselves to Serere CPS police where they are currently detained.

 

Meanwhile, the two bodies were conveyed to Serere District Hospital for postmortem. By the time of filing this story, the bodies were still lying at the Hospital’s mortuary.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Three of the boys belong to a one Opala who died a couple of years ago and was brother to the two women. The other two boys are cousins to the three who were also allocated land in Okokoma village after a long feud.

 

Atai and Akol were also given their own portion of the clan land which they sold to the same man, they were attempting to sell the land given to the boys – their nephews.

 

Clan members spoken to by this reporter blame the deceased for harassing their nephews with intention of selling their land something that triggered this monstrous action.
