BREAKING! Uganda Tourism Board Gets New Chief Executive Officer

Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has appointed Ms. Juliana Kagwa as new Chief Executive Officer replacing Lilly Ajarova.

 

The appointment was revealed in a brief post on X today, Wednesday, 21st May, 2025 by the Ministry of Tourism confirming Kagwa’s appointment.

 

“Confirmed; Ms. Juliana Kagwa appointment new @TourismBoardUg CEO! Congratulations and we warmly welcome you to the tourism fraternity,” reads the Ministry of Tourism’s statement on X.

 

Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) is a statutory organization established by Uganda Tourism Board Statute of 1994 and reconstituted in the Tourism Act 2008 responsible for sustainably promoting Uganda as a Competitive Tourism Destination for Inclusive Development.

 

Key mandates of UTB includes among others, fostering cooperation among key stakeholders in the tourism sector, marketing tourism sector, encouraging investment in the sector, promoting education, training and research, developing and to enforce, and monitor standards in the tourism sector.

 

It also inspects, registers, licenses and classifies tourist facilities and services across the country.
