The joint security forces of ASTU and UPDF in Karenga have recovered two guns in a series of operations.
This was revealed today, Friday, 23rd May, 2025 by Longole Mike, ASTU Spokesperson, in a statement.
Longole says the first gun, an SMG rifle with 03 live rounds of ammunition, was recovered from Lomeritum Lobwol Simon Peter, a 30-year-old resident of Lokorio village. The suspect was arrested on May 21, 2025, and led the security forces to his house where the gun was recovered.
The second gun, an SMG was handed over to the security forces by the wife of Lokuda Gabriel, a 70-year-old resident of Komem Village. The suspect was arrested on May 4, 2025, and is currently in custody.
“Our security agencies remain committed to maintaining peace and security in the region and urge the community to continue cooperating with them,” says Longole.
