A 30 year old woman in Bwizibwera cell, Rutooma Town Council, Mbarara District has been arrested in connection with the murder of her husband’s sister.
According to a police statement issued on Sunday, 25th May, 2025, Kembabazi Winnie together with Byamakama Javira Mawuruba, 19, a casual worker are prime suspects in the murder of 25 year old Akakunda Rita.
According to police, Veterinary doctor Karegyeya Brighton reported the body, leading to a prompt police response on Sunday.
A team processed the crime scene, and Honey, a police dog, tracked a scent to blood-stained clothes belonging to Byamukama at Namutebi Jolly’s home.
Byamukama confessed that Kembabazi paid him to kill Rita due to issues with her sister-in-law.
