Vipers SC president, Lawrence Mulindwa on Sunday, 25th May, 2025 rewarded his players with a hefty cash bonus of shs200 million following their triumph in the 2024/2025 StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The Kitende-based club clinched the title after amassing 69 points, narrowly edging out NEC FC, who finished second with 67 points.
Despite the league winner’s official prize standing at shs 60 million, Mulindwa went beyond the federation’s recognition and offered his team a far more generous reward in appreciation of their stellar performance.
Among the standout performers was striker Allan Okello, who finished the season as the league’s top scorer with 19 goals.
He received an additional shs5 million from Mulindwa for his exceptional contribution.
Vipers SC sealed the championship by winning 21 of their 30 league matches, drawing six, and losing only three.
Their consistent form and determination throughout the season ensured they lifted the newly redesigned Uganda Premier League trophy, which has been named “Margherita” after the highest peak of Mountain Rwenzori.
This latest triumph marks Vipers SC’s seventh league title since joining the top flight in the 2009/10 season, making them the most successful team in recent history.
Their closest rivals, KCCA FC, have won five titles during the same period.
