The Supreme Court has today Tuesday, 27th May, 2025 commenced a two-day session dedicated to hearing Constitutional Appeals.
According to the cause list released by Deputy Registrar H.W. Akullo Elizabeth Ogwal, the session is being presided over by nine Justices: Lady Justice Prof. Lillian Tibatemwa Ekirikubinza, Lady Justice Percy Night Tuhaise, Justice Mike Chibita, Lady Justice Elizabeth Musoke, Justice Stephen Musota, Justice Madrama Izama Christopher, Lady Justice Catherine K. Bamugemereire, Lady Justice Monica Kalyegira Mugenyi, and Justice Kibeedi Muzamiru Mutangula.
The nine Constitutional Appeals set to be heard over the course of the session are: Attorney General and Another VS United Organization for Batwa Development in Uganda, Mother Kevin Women Open University, Kiwanuka Anthony and Ochieng S.C Peter VS Damanico Properties Ltd, Commissioner Land Registration and Attorney General.
Others being heard today are; Fred Wuwema VS Attorney General, Constitutional Appeal and Attorney General VS Hon Zaake Francis, also a Constitutional Appeal.
The Appeals scheduled for Wednesday, 28th are; Capt Benjamin Ahimbisibwe VS Attorney General, Human Rights Network Development Network of Indigenous Association, FIDA, Hon. Mwanga Kivumbi and Dr. Zoe Niringiye VS Attorney General, Game Concepts Ltd VS National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board and Attorney General.
Others are; Center for Public Interest Law Ltd and 2 Others VS Attorney General, Attorney General VS Nandala Nathan Mafabi and 3 Others in Constitutional Appeal NO:03/2022.
