The National Forestry Authority has arrested 12 individuals who were found carrying out prohibited activities in Mt. Kei Central Forest Reserve located in Yumbe District.
According to a statement issued today, Monday, 9th June, 2025, those arrested are Anguzo Richard, Izati Wilson, Matua Morphat, Adiga Godfrey, and Achanga Sam.
Others are Onzima Jackson, Ariku Rasul, Amagu Samson, Manzede Henry, Andabati Ronald, Ijoga, Ratibu and Opima Sunday.
NFA says all the 12 have been transferred to Kampala for prosecution.
“NFA encourages the general public to be vigilant and report illegalities carried out in forest reserves,” reads the statement in part.
