BUDUDA
12 Aspirants are eyeing Bushigayi County Member of Parliament Seat in Bududa district after former minister for trade and the incumbent declares retirement from active politics.
David Wanendeya Wakikona, in May, 2025, declared that he is not going come back to Parliament preferring to concentrate on his businesses.
Bushigayi Constituency is located in Bududa district which was curved out of Manjiya County before the last election of 2021 and Wakikona was its first Member of Parliament.
Wakikona’s decision has paved the way for a new face to represent the constituency in the next Parliament.
The following individuals have so far declared their intention to run on National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket; Wilson Watira, Wabusani Steven Makwa, Captain (Retired) Dr. Leo Wamakoto, Fred Wambete, Samuel Wakooli, Denis Wamboyo Kiwumi, and Phillip Namukowa.
The one who has aspired on National Unity Platform (NUP) is Charles Makuyi Kimaswa
Other Independent Candidates vying for the same seat are Kigai Moses Wamoto, Mabala Natala Moses, Wakimwayi Joel Nalukoosi and Wakwabubi Davies.
