The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Jinja City Electoral Commission has officially released the list of nominated candidates for various party positions ahead of the 2026 general elections.

According to Joseph Madox Lugadda, the Electoral Commission Supervisor for Jinja City, and his deputy Olyao Richard, who addressed a press conference at the FDC offices in Jinja City (located at Kama Oil, Milo Mbili), on Tuesday, the vetting committee carried out a thorough ground assessment before finalizing the nominations.

Among the candidates who have been nominated are:

Nabukwasi Enid Petra– Jinja City Woman MP position

Mbayo Bernard– Jinja South West Constituency

Nsadha Simon – Jinja City Mayor position

Madox explained that only candidates who were deemed suitable were nominated.

“There are some members who wanted positions, but they didn’t meet the criteria. We advised them to contest for alternative positions. Some accepted, but others refused — those who refused have been disqualified,” he said.

Luganda emphasized that the FDC is selecting candidates who can revitalize the party under the leadership of Nathan Nandala Mafabi Majegere.

“We assessed all candidates’ documents. Those involved in forgery or with inconsistencies, such as interchanged names or fake academic papers, were disqualified for the good of the party,” he added.

He further revealed that some individuals were only seeking positions for personal gain or were secretly collaborating with NRM members to undermine the FDC. “We have weeded them out,” Luganda said.

Speaking after her nomination, Nabukwasi Enid Petra thanked the FDC Jinja City Electoral Commission for entrusting her with the party card for the Woman MP seat.

“I am happy and thank the Lord for this opportunity. I’m ready to elevate FDC’s development agenda and I’m confident of winning the 2026 elections. I’m going to Parliament as Nathan Nandala Mafabi becomes president,” she said.

Nabukwasi called on the people of Jinja City to support her, stating that she is committed to delivering better leadership.
