NRM Election Disputes Tribunal Sets Dates for Hearing of MP Primaries Petitions

The National Resistance Movement, (NRM) Party Election Disputes Tribunal has announced date for commencement of hearing of disputes arising from the recently concluded NRM parliamentary primaries.

 

Addressing the media today at Plot 30, Kyadondo Road, Friday, 25th July, 2025, Mr. John Musiime, the Tribunal Chairman, said the hearing s will commence on Tuesday, 29th July 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

 

Musiime also revealed that the Tribunal is ready and prepared to handle the 381 electoral petitions received.

 

The NRM Director of Legal Counsel, Enoch Barata, asked all the petitioners to serve a copy of their petitions both to the dispute tribunal and the respondents.

 

The hearings are expected to end on 1st September, 2025.

 

The Tribunal is organized into 8 panels comprising highly competent, professional legal brains and trusted cadres of the Party.

 

Barata says the petitions cover a range of electoral concerns including vote rigging, multiple voting, violence and obstruction of polling agents, participation of ineligible voters and procedural irregularities during voting and tallying.
