MBALE CITY
Community members have arrested a man red-handed vandalizing the water system at Busamaga Health Center III in Mbale City.
According to Geoffrey Wanyama, the in-charge of Busamaga health center III, Womoli Gilbert Aaron, a resident of Nabijo cell, Busamaga ward, in Mbale city was caught on Sunday, 27th July, 2025.
He says Womoli was caught red-handed vandalising the system with two taps in his pocket but another suspect, identified as Aaron, escaped during the arrest.
Wanyama adds that the health center has been experiencing ongoing vandalism, leaving the water system non-functional.
Womoli is being detained at Northern Division Central Police Station under Theft case number SD REF: 07/27/7/2025.
Attempts to get a comment from Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson by press time were futile after saying he is consulting before speaking to the media.
