Two Kiboga District Engineers have been remanded to prison for allegedly orchestrating theft of fuel funds under the Shs1billion Road fund.
Kiboga District Engineer, Mukiibi Ismail, and the Assistant Engineering Officer- Mechanical, Bwante Moses, were arraigned before the Kiboga Chief Magistrate’s Court on various charges of Conspiracy to Defraud on Friday, 1st August, 2025.
According to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit that has taken keen interest into the abuse of these funds, the accused, along with others still at large, between 2023 and 2024, allegedly conspired to defraud the Kiboga District Local Government of millions of shillings, meant for fuel under the Road Maintenance Grant.
It is alleged that the accused connived with the Managers of different fuel stations and took cash meant for fuel supplies during the financial year 2023/2024.
Additionally, they are accused of fraudulently claiming fuel for Motor Vehicles that have been grounded for several months between 2022 and 2023.
They were remanded till August 14, 2025.
