Police at Kabalagala Kampala is currently holding a one Sandra Teta on allegations of unlawful wounding of her alleged husband, Douglas Mayanja alias Weasel.
ASP Luke Owoyesigire the Deputy Police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan area says the incident occurred at around midnight today the 7th August 2025 at Shan’s Bar in Munyonyo, following an alleged altercation between the two.
It is alleged that Sandra Teta intentionally drove and knocked down Mayanja using motor vehicle UBH 148Y, which has since been impounded and parked at Kabalagala Police Station.
Douglas Mayanja was initially rushed to Mukwaya Hospital and later transferred to Nsambya Hospital, where he is currently admitted and receiving medical treatment.
Patrick Onyango, the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, confirmed Tete’s arrest and added that Weasel was taken to Nsambya hospital. He said the couple quarrelled at home and extended their domestic misunderstanding to the bar.
“Sandra, according to witnesses who called police, knocked Weasel three times, but he survived. Our officers have checked on him at Nsambya hospital, and they have been informed that his life is out of danger, but he has multiple fractures in one leg,” Onyango said.
Weasel is the young brother of musician Joseph Mayanja, alias Dr Jose Chameleon. His relationship with Sandra has always been shaky, and they have often ended up taking each other to various police stations.
They have separated several times, but they get reunited by parents, relatives and friends.
ASP Owoyesigire says that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
