The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has today Tuesday, 19th August, 2025 directed all examination centers across the country to display the 2025 candidates’ registers for public viewing until 10th October.
In a statement, UNEB executive director Dan Odongo said the display which started on 10th August is a mandatory exercise under UNEB act aimed at ensuring that all learners are duly registered ahead of this years’ national exams.
According to Odongo, the registers must be displayed at school or examination centers where candidates are registered as well as the district head office to give parents, teachers and candidates chance to verify registration details.
“This exercise is important to avoid unfortunate scenarios where students are discovered unregistered at the start of the examination time,” Odongo said.
The board urges parents with learners in schools without UNEB center number status to confirm that their children have been duly registered.
Where a student with proof of payment is missing from the register, UNEB advises parents to immediately contact the school or UNEB for action.
Head of centers, parents and candidates have been advised to be careful in verifying the accuracy of the biodata in the register, then index number, correct spelling of names, date of birth among others.
Odongo says that if an error is found, the school is asked to conduct UNEB direct for correction before stipulated time ends.
For PLE candidates, schools are required to fill amendment forms via UNEB Portal. Then UCE and UACE, the school must submit a formal amendment request letter accompanied by the candidate’s national ID or birth certificate.
