Uganda Cranes has recalled former Skipper and goal Keeper, Denis Onyango from his international retirement in the latest squad summoned for FIFA Qualifiers against Mozambique and Somalia.
The squad unveiled on Wednesday, 27th August, 2025 has Onyango, the current Mamelodi Sundowns’ goal keeper, Magoola Salim Omar (Richards Bay FC in South Africa), Alionzi Nafian (Defence Forces FC –Ethiopia) and Mutakubwa Joel (Bul FC –Uganda) as Goal Keepers.
The 10 Defenders are; Bwomono Elvis, Bockhorn Herbert (playing in Germany), Capradossi Elio (Romania), Torach Rogers (Vipers FC), Sibbick Toby (Burton Albion FC-England), Mukundane Hillary (Vipers FC), Obita Jordan (Hibernian FC-Scotland), Kayoondo Aziz (FC Slovan Liberec –Czech Republic), Achayi Herbert and Kizito Gavin all are playing for KCCA.
The five midfielders are; Ssekiganda Ronald (APR –Rwanda), Semakula Kenneth (Al Arabi FC- Kuwait), Sserunjogi Joel (KCCA), Watambala Abdu Karim (Vipers FC) and Mutyaba Travis (CS Sfaxien-Tunisia).
Meanwhile, the Cranes has called up nine strikers that include Allan Okello, Omedi Denis (APR-Rwanda), Mpande Joseph plying his trade in Vietnam, Mato Rogers playing in Macedonia, Ssemugabi Jude (Kitara FC), Mpande Reagan (SC Villa), Dembe John Paul (Sweden), Kakande Patrick Jonah (SC Villa) and Ikpeazu Uchechukwu currently playing at St Johnstone FC in Scotland.
