President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed the current Director of Public Prosecutions, Hon. Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo as Principal Judge.
Justice Abodo replaces Justice Flavian Zeija who was promoted to Deputy Chief Justice.
Following Zeija’s promotion, Lady Justice Jane Okuo Kajuga served in an acting capacity as Principal Judge until Abodo’s formal appointment.
Abodo’s elevation marks another historic step in her judicial career. As DPP since 2020, she has been credited with strengthening the prosecution service, pursuing anti-corruption cases, and championing digital reforms.
Confirming the appointment, AIGP Tom Magambo, Director of CID took to his X-Handle and congratulated her upon her appointment on Friday, afternoon, 29th August, 2025.
