A 15-year-old student of Kyemamba Seed Secondary School, known as Nankinga Meble, was Monday found dead under mysterious circumstances in Lyantonde District, sparking shock across the Masaka West Region. Police have launched a manhunt for the prime suspect, identified only as Isaac.
Greater Masaka Police spokesperson Kasirye Twaaha confirmed that on the night of September 1, 2025, Nankinga secretly left her parents’ home and went to Kyemamba Trading Center to meet Isaac, with whom she reportedly spent the night at his rented room.
The next morning, at around 7:30 a.m., her parents noticed she had not returned home and began searching for her. By 10:00 a.m., they were informed that she had been at Isaac’s residence. On arrival, they were horrified to find their daughter lying dead on the bed and immediately alerted police.
Officers visited the scene, conducted inquiries, and later transferred the body to Lyantonde Hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Police say Isaac is now on the run, and efforts to trace him are ongoing.
They are appealing to the public to provide any information that could lead to his arrest.
The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of young students. Authorities and community leaders have urged parents to be vigilant and residents to promptly report suspicious activities.
