MUBENDE
Police in Mubende has embarked on investigations into a fatal road accident that claimed four lives and left twenty (20) others injured.
The accident occurred on September 5, 2025, at about 4:30 a.m., at Nabutiti–Kisujja along the Kyegegwa–Mubende road in Mubende District involving motor vehicle Reg. No. UBF 636F, an Isuzu Elf, which was carrying about 35 people travelling to a burial in Kassanda.
Wamala Region police spokesperson, SP Racheal Kawala said the preliminary findings indicate that the vehicle lost control, veered off the road, and overturned, killing four occupants on the spot and injuring twenty others.
The deceased have been identified as Arnold Maniriho 43, Sekubulye Richard, 36, Tumuranze Enid, 40 and Kobusingye Edvina, 23, all residents of Kangoma ‘A’, Rushango Town Council, Ibanda District.
The injured victims include: Karuhanga James, Mukamohere Kellen, Karire Jackline, Mufuruko Edison Twiine Innocent, Kwendera John, Tumwikirize Scovia, Tugume Medard and Busingye Medius.
“The injured victims were rushed to Mubende Regional Referral Hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.” said SP Kawala
By the press time the vehicle had been towed to Mubende police awaiting inspection with efforts to have the driver arrested for careless driving.
