The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries has announced an average 10 US cents increase in world coffee prices as of Tuesday 9th September, 2025.
The rise in coffee prices is largely attributed to drier weather conditions in the coffee producing regions of Brazil. Somar Meteorologia, the Meteorological Agency of Brazil reported on Monday, 8th September, 205 that Brazil’s largest Arabica coffee growing areas received no rain for the week ended 6 September.
The excessive dryness has sparked crop concerns ahead of the flowering period for coffee trees and is supportive for the coffee prices that have settled sharply higher by 8th September with Arabica posting a week high.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, FAQ Coffee is now going at between 14,000-14,500, farm gate price, Kiboko 65,000-7,000, Arabica Parchment 14,000-14,500 while clean Drugar Coffee sells at 13,500- 14,000.
However, on the international market, price for Ikg of Arabica is at 7.36 US Cents an equivalent of Shs25, 752 as of Monday, 8th September, 2025.
