The chairperson LCIII of Bukedea Town Council, Sam Engole has made a reshuffle of his cabinet with fear of the forthcoming elections.
The reshuffle took place on Tuesday, 9th September, 2025 during a council sitting chaired by the council speaker, Hellen Amunyo.
Engole dropped the Social Services Secretary David Emuge, and asked the council to adopt the newly appointed social services secretary, Dan Malinga after appointing in the presence of the council.
According to Engole, the local government act mandates his office to sack any member of the executive who’s not performing well.
”Madam speaker voters now want accountability and since my secretary for social services is not working well, I can’t accept to be voted out by voters because of him so I have a right to remove and replace,” said Engole.
Amunyo, tasked the newly appointed secretary to consent to his new appointment.
“Following the chairperson’s decision, before council owns it, can the person appointment confirm to the council”, said Ms Amunyo.
In response, Malinga accepted the appointment saying he is ready to exercise his duties to the fullest.
