Ateker International Development Organization (AIDO) Network International has applauded Clinson Medical Centre for unveiling a routine eye screening program in Soroti City—an initiative designed to strengthen community health through early detection of eye-related conditions.

Speaking at the launch today 27th Sept 2025, Lady Evelyne Imede, who represented AIDO, described the program as “a commendable step towards proactive healthcare and community well-being.”

She emphasized the often-overlooked importance of eye health, noting that it directly affects education, quality of life, and productivity.

“This program will undoubtedly make a significant difference, detecting conditions early and ensuring timely intervention. It aligns perfectly with AIDO’s vision of empowering communities through better health outcomes,” she added.

Lady Imede also extended special appreciation to Dr. Jane Agwaru, the CEO of Clinson Medical Centre, for spearheading the initiative: “We commend Clinson Medical Centre for their commitment to this vital service and look forward to its positive impact on many lives.”

The new eye clinic, located in Owelai, Opuyo along the old Mbale road in Soroti City East Division, is set to deliver specialized, high-quality eye care to the Teso sub-region and beyond.

The launch attracted key figures including Soroti City Health Officer, Dr. Alfred Anyonga, and Dr. Jane Agwaru, alongside invited guests and community members.

AIDO also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting partnerships that transform communities, stressing that the Clinson-AIDO collaboration demonstrates how collective effort can address pressing health needs in Uganda.
