Hundreds of youths in Sironko District on Saturday received start-up tools and equipment worth millions of shillings during an empowerment outreach organized by the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) under Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo in partnership with Asha Nabulo Mafabi, the NRM flag bearer for Woman MP seat.
The function was held at Sironko High School playground to foster economic self-reliance and eradicate poverty.
The exercise, is part of President Museveni’s long-standing wealth creation agenda, aimed at empowering youth, women, and other vulnerable groups with tangible support to boost household incomes and job creation.
Items distributed included crop sprayers, seeds, hair dryers, sewing machines, chapati stoves (Sigiris), wheat flour, cooking oil, welding kits, among others.
While addressing the gathering, Hajjat Namyalo thanked the people of Sironko for supporting President Museveni and Asha Nabulo.
Chief Muzzukulu, praised Nabulo’s commitment to uplifting her community, saying this was the reason ONC partnered with her to extend the empowerment program.
Namyalo, also the Senior Presidential Advisor also urged voters to rally behind both President Museveni and Nabulo in the forthcoming elections.
Asha Nabulo, in her address, expressed gratitude to her supporters for standing with her and for their prayers that enabled her to secure the NRM flag unopposed.
She emphasized development as the cornerstone of her campaign, noting that despite losing the 2021 election, she remained active on the ground, serving communities across parishes and sub-counties.
“I want you to put me on the weighing scale and see who has worked for you. On voting day, mobilize door to door, give me all your votes, and send me to Parliament so I can lobby for more opportunities,” Nabulo said.
She further urged the people of Sironko to vote overwhelmingly for President Museveni, citing peace and stability brought by the UPDF and other security agencies as his greatest achievements.
Abdallah Difee, the NRM chairman of Sironko Town Council, commended the residents for turning up in large numbers.
He reminded them of the need to elect leaders who will prioritize their needs and encouraged former NUP supporters who crossed to NRM to engage in productive activities rather than being misled by selfish politicians.
The event marked another milestone in Asha Nabulo’s campaign, reinforcing her agenda of empowering communities, promoting hard work, and advancing patriotism and economic independence ahead of the 2026 general elections.
